Malacanang Visit Canceled

I am a little agitated today. Not because of my scheduled activities for today but in anticipation of what’s on monday and tuesday.
I received a call and a text yesterday afternoon from Prof. Noli Santos confirming our “trip” to Malacanang on monday supposedly for the induction of the Philippine Council of Management, which also coincides with the Laban Party’s gathering. Noli is an original and full-blooded Laban. Having been a close friend and ally of Ninoy and Cory.

A visit to Malacanang takes some special preparation. One, my monday would be blocked, Two, I have to find a suitable attire to wear- I’ve been agonizing what to wear ever since I received the advise from Noli. A suit would be too hot for this summer heat. A dress would divulge my bulges. The President might ask if I am pregnant if I wore a tent dress not that he cares.

It was actually a big relief when Noli texted today that Malacanang is canceled. Oh good. I can now relax.

Tuesday would still be a bit of a concern. Philippines, Inc. has organized a conference of some sort with entertainments in the evening. Although RP Manhit and his staff are basically in-charge, I still am a bit anxious for some reason.
RP emailed to me the program. I saw the name GRACE LEE listed as the EMCEE. Wait… the name Grace Lee looks familiar.
Where have I seen it… Oh… I know… She’s the special friend of President Noynoy Aquino. Hmmm, and why is she going to be our host? Alam ko na , my colleagues are so pilyo, siguro tutuksuhin si Presidente, who happens to be our Guest of Honor on tuesday. Naku, this is going to be one happy occasion. Sigurado the guys would be so busy taking pictures with the pretty Grace Lee. Well, I am bringing along Julienne Yee.

Grace would be the emcee from 3 pm till after the President’s speech. This is actually a semi-private affair. We are expecting no more than 80 people to attend. These are Philippines Inc.’s officers, members, ambassadors and some CEOs. Tony Tuvierra is providing for the entertainment.
