Mini Celebration in Gloria Maris

We had a mini celebration that evening after Oyen’s successful thesis defense. We were all tired but we forced ourselves to go to Gloria Maris for dimsum to bring down our adrenaline, especially Oyen’s.

We arrived in Gloria Maris at 8 pm.

We saw this giant thingy in one of the aquariums. I asked the security guard standing beside the glass aquariums”.
A———- “Guard, ano yan?”
G———- “Jodac. Jodac galing US’.

Geoduck is listed in the Wikipedia as very large, edible, saltwater clams native to the west coast of North America. Meron pala nyan sa SFO pero never pa akong nakakita o naka kain nyan. Parang nakaka-gilaw-law.

This must be expensive. According to the guard, it’s sold for a few thousand pesos a piece.

Gloria Maris Seafood Restaurant has 4 sections. Dimsum, fine dining, shabu-shabu and the party halls on the second floor. We went to the less formal dimsum area in the middle.

This could be dinner and midnight snack combination.

For dessert, Oyen ordered mango sago, Edmund’s almond lychee, Nyke’s black gulaman and buchi. The waiter said “Almot lychee”. I repeat your order “One almot lychee….”.
