Since we’re already at the hospital waiting for the doctor, I thought I might as well have my daughter checked for other things aside from blood test. So para akong doctor, pina-breast at whole abdomen ultrasound ko sya and chest x-ray. The official results indicated that her left ovary is normal, but her right ovary is not visualized. They couldn’t find her right ovary.
When we got home, my daughter asked me “I don’t have a right ovary?”
Naku, hindi anak, since it’s so small, baka natabunan lang ng poopoo mo.
Today, Julienne is feeling better except for body and muscle pains. She has no more fever since yesterday but I still wanted to make sure that she’s fine. I sent her back to Cardinal Santos for another round of CBC to check her platelet count to rule out dengue, urinalysis for the bacteria, and ordered her to go back to the ultrasound and tell them to look for her right ovary. Hindi ako papayag na ipinanganak ko sya na kulang ang ovary.
They scanned her again at no additional cost and they found her missing ovary and it’s normal.
She has bacterial infection so Dr. Palafox gave her antibiotics.
I am an over- zealous mother cum stage mother. My son’s pedia once called me Doctora Yee because he was kind of irritated that before he could even check-up my son who was running a fever that time, I already had all his vital organs and blood tested.
Dr. Palafox calls Edmund Dr. Yee.
