Mt. Kanlaon erupted when I was on the plane to Bacolod

My flight to Bacolod was cancelled while I was waiting at the airport lounge on May 13.

PAL issued me a travel voucher for the P14,000 I paid for my round-trip ticket.

When I rebooked,  the fare went up by over a thousand pesos.

Despite my hectic schedule,  isiningit ko talaga to go back to Bacolod even for a night.

I met Maria Montelibano and her best friend and business partner, Jeanne, the sister of Mike Tan, on the plane.  Ms. Maria’s husband passed away recently and they were bringing his ashes to their family mausoleum in Bacolod.

My schedule was so packed on the 23rd,  grabe, lantutay ako when I reached my room 509 at the Seda Hotel.

I slept at 2 am, woke up at 5 am, left at 6:45 am, checked in at 7:20, Left at 10 am,  landed at 11:10 am.  The driver told me “mam buti hindi na cancel ang flight mo,  lahat mamaya cancel na kasi pumutok uli ang Mt. Kanlaon.”    The active volcano erupted while I was in the sky on my way to Bacolod.

So as not to waste time, instead of going to Seda hotel to check in I went straight to my meeting and lunch from 11:45 am to 3 pm, arrived at the plant 4 pm, checked in at Seda Hotel at 6 pm,  rest for one hour, dinner at 7:30 pm.  Plastado by 9:00 pm.  9:30 pm Zzzzzz.

Dinner at Diotay’s as recommended by my husband

After breakfast on the 24th, I went to Aguinaldo Street for a meeting, then went around the commercial areas, packed, checked out of Seda, checked in at PAL, had a relaxing foot massage for 45 minutes at Spa Natura located beside the PAL Mabuhay Lounge, then flew out.

Delicious batchoy at PAL’s Mabuhay Lounge.
Bacolod bat got

I was the first to board the Philippine Airlines plane bound from Manila from Bacolod. I was amazed at the fog-like cool mists coming out of the plane’s aircon vents. I asked the young male flight attendant to take my pictures. (Thank you.)
