Oyen sent an online reservation request directly to New York Cafe for a table of 4 in March but up to the time we were leaving for Budapest, no confirmation had been given. This restaurant is very popular that’s why their dinner time is always booked months in advance.
Our tour coordinator suggested that we just go for refreshments instead of dinner. There’s a better chance of getting a table during merienda time.
There were 15 of us and we’re all scattered around the restaurant. Coming from a lunch of Hungarian sausages, plus the sun’s glare outside, having a light snack or refreshment would be perfect. I was actually very thirsty when we reached New York cafe.
