I am running a list of gadgets I still need and the actual process that I would do before I embark on my planned invention of my own version of Hazelnut Dacquise cookies. I like it crispy on the sides and chewy in the middle. I must pre-heat the oven to 175 degrees and increase it to 180 degrees just before I place the mixture in the oven, then leave it there for 15 minutes. Cooking is easier than baking. You can always add and subtract and experiment. Baking is an exact science much like Accounting and Finance. Dapat eksakto or else, you have to do it all over again.
I looked at my oven and since I don’t bake, it’s only this morning that I discovered that my oven is papihit-pihit lang, it’s not digital like the one we used at Enderun. How would I know it’s 175 degrees, 180 degrees. It’s either I will buy a portable timer or upgrade my oven, yung may digital timer para easier. Naku, if I would buy a new oven, mas lalong mamamahal itong mga cookies-to-be ko.
Our kitchen is small, it cannot accommodate another oven. Ibig sabihin we have to renovate and extend our kitchen to accommodate the new digital oven. Ibig sabihin pala we have to purchase a bigger lot and build a new house with a much bigger kitchen to fit all my new baking and cooking gadgets. I just want to bake and give the cookies to my family and friends.
