I was utterly disappointed when I saw some Facebook posts titled “Palit Bise”. I felt so sad that many Filipinos do not realize the implications of impeaching either the president or vice president. There is no benefit this would bring to our country.
Yes, I also did not agree with Vice President Robredo sending her video message to the UN denouncing extra judicial killings. Although I would like to think that she had good intentions, I thought that was completely unnecessary and not carefully thought of. Announcing to the whole world that there’s something wrong with our country and coming from the Vice President herself shows the world that we are weak as a nation. That we cannot handle our own problems and that we need to tell the world about it.
Having said that, I don’t believe that we should launch a rocket to remove her from office. The vice presidency, just like the presidency, is an institution. Her video is not a compelling reason for us to throw her out.
