My husband, my daughter, and I joined the protest rally at EDSA this afternoon to stand against massive corruption in the Philippines.

Politicians, senators, congressmen, government officials, and even government employees — along with contractors doing business with them — are part of a massive web of corruption, that’s deeper than the Indian Ocean. Magkakasabwat sila. Yung mga pera ng taong bayan, ninanakaw nila.
The on-going investigations must also include the complicit banks allowing the criminals to withdraw and deposit hundreds of millions in cold cash. Baka hindi kayang imbestigahan lahat. Kulang ang 10 taon.
Billions of pesos change hands under the table. Ang kakapal ng mga mukha. Mga bilyonaryo pero ninanakaw lang ang mga pera. Hoy, pera namin yan ano!
Even governors and mayors often award contracts to favored contractors in exchange for kickbacks. These deals are common knowledge but we, the citizens, remain blind. Kanino ka magsusumbong? Sila rin yun. And they have become so powerful. They will just pay their way out.
This is blatant theft of public funds — money that belongs to the Filipino people, meant for schools, hospitals, infrastructure, and basic services. Instead, it’s lining the pockets of those in power.
Mga addict pa sa casino. Hindi kasi pinaghihirapan ang mga pera. Kasi ninanakaw lang nila sa pera ng gobyerno na galing sa aming mga mamamayan.
What did Vice Ganda say? Dapat daw sila patayin kasi kulang ang kulong.
I seriously doubt any of these people will ever end up in jail.
The money they stole — it’s most likely hidden away already. The records have been cleaned up, and their bank accounts scrubbed. Now they’ll lie low, stay quiet, wait for the noise to die down.
And when the public outrage fades — happy days are here again.
They get to keep their stolen wealth, their properties, their influence — as if nothing ever happened.
MGA M A G N A N A K A W!
