We were about to enter the mini farm when I noticed this puto kutsinta vendor. I got excited because I thought he was selling the good old kind of tiny round brown puto and wiggly kutsinta.

Puto vendor

I called him. I was really excited. Perfect timing, it was past one in the afternoon and I haven’t had lunch.

Hindi naman pala bilog. The vendor said they just tasted the same. But no, magka-iba ang lasa and texture.

We let him in. We asked the construction workers if they wanted puto kutsinta. Game daw. Sold out. I gave him a hundred, he gave us 25 pieces. Okay na for 10 workers x 2 slices each, meron pang sobra.

This is the hardworking vendor from Quezon province, Manny Villanueva. He walks kilometers upon kilometers selling puto kutsinta, earning him P700 to a thousand pesos a day. He used to be a laborer earning a measly sum of one hundred. It was not enough to support his family. Ngayon, he earns a good living. He said the manufacturer is from Dasmarinas, Cavite who used to be poor also. Now, the guy has over a hundred people covering the nearby towns including Metro Manila. He earns somewhere between 50,000 to 70,000 A DAY from all that puto and kutsinta.

  1. Inspiring! Meron sana syang mga anak na mapatapos nya ng pag aaral o kaya makaipon sya at magka idea how to grow his earnings. Best wishes to manong Manny.

  2. Joey, Oo nga ano, yung mga Manny nagiging bilyunaryo. My name is Annie, Pareho naman ng tunog. Kulang lang ako ng letter M, em as in MONEY!!!!!

  3. 🙂 totoo dapat ang maging pangalan na uso sa panahon ngayon ay Manny at Annie. Kung gusto ng mga tao maging katulad nyo ang level ng kanilang mga anak, dapat makipangalan na (tukayo ba yung term)
