Serious About Losing Weight

My husband panicked when his weight tipped 194 lbs. after the holidays.
Immediately, he embarked on a serious weight lost program.
For the past two weeks, he’s been jogging / walking every single morning except when he plays golf which is also walking.

He does floor exercises after jogging. Sit-ups, stretching, bending.

He has not eaten rice and meat. He has totally abandoned dessert of any kind. He eats oat meal every morning, only half a bowl. He brings a lunch box with carrots and banana.

Our kusinera got a lot fatter. She basically does nothing because we don’t ask her to cook regular food anymore kasi wala naman kakain.

Edmund drinks a lot of water aside from tea. He also drinks warm water with lemon or kalamansi in the morning. He no longer sends his driver to Starbucks every morning. He still drinks coffee but he reduced the sugar from 3 to 2 to 1. Yesterday he was toying with the idea of going black.

Yesterday morning he was too happy when he borrowed Nyke’s weighing scale. “I lost ten pounds!”

He jogged twice yesterday. Once in the morning and he went walking again in the afternoon.

Last night (4 hours ago), he was feeling distraught when he arrived home from the birthday blow out of RB at the Summer Palace. He claimed he had eaten too much. He was becoming paranoid that his weight would go back to 190.

My daughter is also on a rigid exercise program. I think she started even before Christmas. Gym, walking, zumba, in different places. She also eats in very small quantities.

But one time, the two of us went to Prime 101 for steak kasi daw she’s been craving for steak. Once in a while she’s allowed to indulge.

At 10 pm, I prepared a healthy dish for them. I just sauteed garlic, shallots, asparagus with golden mushrooms. I put some water para kunwari ay soup. Sometimes kasi they get hungry and we have nothing healthy to eat.

My son is trying to keep his weight down but not quite successful. He doesn’t have to go on a rigid weight loss program as long as he doesn’t allow himself to be tabachuy-chuy. He plays basketball with his high schoolmates twice a week, that’s his exercise.

I don’t have a tenth of Edmund’s discipline. I’m glad my daughter is like him. My son? Well he’s trying but he has my big appetite.

Me, the same. Sedentary. Sit for hours in the traffic. Sit for a few hours in the office. Sit again at home, in front of this computer. Sit on the bed while I watch one hour of teleserye. Stand up and walk for about 25 meters to get buko juice from the ref. Climb the stairs then sit again to watch CNN. All I do is sit and eat. I walk for a few meters, from my bedroom to the garage. From the office entrance to my office and back. That’s pretty much my lifestyle. That’s it.
