Silverware & Kuto

I received several texts from Pepito Albert, one of Philippines’ renowned couturier, saying that there’s an estate sale of silverware at the Commissary in Whitespace, Pasong Tamo.  Since my celphone has been malfunctioning,  the messages came in at midnight last night,  yun pala he sent those  last thursday pa.

I woke up this morning at 8 but the sound of the rain lulled me back to sleep.  At 10:30 am, Pepito was calling  “Did you just wake up?  Go na they’re still open today”.    He’s  such a sweet guy.

I went to the estate sale,  there was only one customer,  who looked very much like the Romualdezes,  but I didn’t validate by asking “Hello,  kamag-anak ka ba ni First Lady?”

I went looking for flatwares.  There were only two sets left.  Actually they only had 4 sets,  Pepito bought  one set.   The rest of the stuff were tea sets.  These were vintage or antique sets collected by individuals from Paris, Tuscany, and in NY, in St. Barth’s, The Hamptons, Rhode Island, Martha’s Vineyard, etc.  Sounds fancy ha.

There are lots of tea sets. If you don’t like to use them, pwede ring centerpiece or decoration.

Look at that:

I liked this 1953 flatwares service for 12 people. I asked how they determined that it’s from 1953, I couldn’t find any markings or engraving. I left my contact number.

Very old looking candleholders made of cut glass.

I don’t know why I only took a photo of the legs, not the whole body of this set of beautiful antique candelabras from France.

The price is even more beautiful.

You can have wine too. But then, you have to buy something kasi nakakahiya, naki kain ka lang. That’s why, I said “no thanks”.

From Pasong Tamo, where the Commissary was, I went to Mercury Drug in Shangrila Mall. I found some hair treatment creme claiming to remove the frizz.

On that same shelf, I noticed there were many products for hair kuto.

When I was little, there were no products for kuto, or maybe I wasn’t aware or just didn’t know, or I just didn’t have kuto (nakikilabutan ako while making kwento this).   It seems that there’s a bigger market now for this kind of products, why, more girls ba nowadays have kuto?
