Sofitel Vienna Stephansdom

(April 30, 2015)

We reached the Sofitel in Vienna at almost 6 pm. It was not an hour drive but two hours.  From here,  kanya-kanya na kami because this is not included in the package tour.  This is an extended trip.

The total cost of the shuttle from Hungary to Slovakia to Austria was E800 including the tour guide and the baggage carrier. Sine there were four of us, I paid E300 for our share.

It was Mon Dimacali who chose this hotel. He booked on line for all our rooms using his credit card. A few days before we left Manila, I reimbursed him for our hotel rooms.

We got two adjacent rooms,  one for Ayleen and Oyen,  one for me and my son.

I have no idea if most rooms are of this size which is considerably spacious.  The cost per night is also big.

If these beds look comfortable,  it’s because they really are comfy.

The hotels of Sofitel worldwide don’t have a uniformed theme. East hotel has it’s own style. This one in Vienna is super modern. The room has an industrial feel because of the cemented flooring. The furniture and accessories are modern.

The downside of this hotel room is one doesn’t have privacy.  The toilet is separate from the bathroom.  And the bathroom doesn’t have a door.  It does have a sliding mirror but it doesn’t fully enclose for privacy.  You room mate could still see you.

Our rooms are complete with amenities. Daily supply of bottled water, still and gas, orange juice, pineapple juice are included.

The furniture are simplest in form.

The rooms have full windows facing the tourist area where the Cathedral is.

The hotel was designed by Jean Nouvel and is considered a floating sculpture.
