Stories about rich people’s houses in Las Vegas

My husband and I met Mike last Thursday morning, an American working for the county. His job according to him is to inspect houses that are under construction, to make sure of the functionality and safety for the residents.

He told us he’s been to the house of Floyd Mayweather, the most famous resident of Las Vegas. The floor area of Kumpareng Floyd’s house is 22,000 square foot and it has a 20 car garage.

I am sure that Mayweather has several other properties to house his car collection that includes among others two Ferraris, three Bugattis, a Lamborghini, and a McLaren, and at least a dozen Rolls Royces. Pamalengke ba itong Rolls Royce at ang dami naman nyang binili.

Most houses in America are around 2,000- 3,000 sq ft and in Las Vegas there are many that are in the 4,000 and up size. It’s also not extraordinary to find what they call monster houses, those that are 10 times the size of an ordinary person’s house. Floy’s house is not the biggest in their neighborhood according to Mike. Some houses are much bigger.

Car Property.com listed Floyd’s address as 9705 Highridge Dr. but this address is in Summerlin North. What I know is that his house is in Southern Highlands Ranch.

Floyd Mayweather has an Instagram account where he posts photos of his possessions. There are many sites that have also posted photos of his house.
He reportedly has recently bought a $25+ M Beverly Hills mansion.

Last Thursday noon, we had lunch at a small restaurant serving teriyaki rice bowl located in Summerlin. There’s a big kitchen and bath showroom beside the restaurant. We met one of the sales guys there and he was very friendly. Nakipagkwentuhan sa amin. He said they have clients whose kitchens alone cost $359,000. This is for the kitchen appliances, counter tops and cabinets. There’s a woman who bought a custom-made bath tub made of copper and big enough to fit 8 people. She paid $60,000 for that bath tub alone plus $10,000 installation.

The sales guy named Terry said he is amazed at the amount of money moving around Las Vegas. He said their clients’ homes are usually in the 20,000 plus square foot size and it’s not unusual for them to buy $100,000 worth of appliances for one kitchen alone. He told us about a client of his who bought the whole cul de sac to build 4 houses, one for each of his three children and one for him and his wife. The parent’s house interior equipment, furnishings is $3.2M.
Ter said it boggles his mind by the number of millionaires in Vegas.
He also mentioned about the Oakland Raiders who are moving to Las Vegas in a year or two. With the Raiders coming here, he said millionaires and billionaires would be pouring in their money here. That would be good for the economy here in Las Vegas.

Terry came from the east coast and he had also designed many kitchens and baths of multi-millionaires there. He is not new to visiting mansions and monster homes. He said the difference between the rich in New Hampshire, Hampton, is that those are mostly old money while the rich in Vegas are new money.
