Just before I left Manila for Tokyo, I caught the legendary Tony Bennett singing the famous My Best Friend’s Wedding signature music The Way You Look Tonight at the Tonight show with Jay Leno. One could also find this music in the soundtrack of many other romantic movies.
Australian-born actor Hugh Jackman was also in the same show that evening.
Tony Bennett’s voice was still crisp and lyrics were clear but maybe due to his age he couldn’t belt it out anymore. He cuts short long notes.
Although Tony’s was more orig, Rod Stewart’s version has a different kind of roar which is equally entertaining.
