Tragic Accident in Cavite

Yesterday morning,  husband and wife went to Tagaytay for a little pasyal and quick lunch at Chef Paul’s Fire Lake Grill.

On  our way up to Tagaytay along the Santa Rosa/ Tagaytay Road,  after the mais vendors, before Ming’s garden,  we were delayed by a bad traffic.  That road used to be just an alternative to the main and wider Aguinaldo Hway.  But now,  it has become another major access road  going to Tagaytay and Batangas.  It’s no surprise to see  some traffic congestion because the street is generally narrow and too many vehicles are passing.

Vehicular accident

We were a bit annoyed by the turtle- paced traffic yesterday at around 10 am.  Then, this was what we saw.  A Ford Explorer in the middle of the opposite lane.

Tagaytay Accident

A big bike rider slammed on the Explorer’s right  side.  I wasn’t able to take a photo of the right side because we couldn’t stop our vehicle.  There were pieces of what used to be a bike that were being picked up by some guys.  There was no person lying on the street or being attended to.  My husband and I thought,  the biker could be safe.  My theory was— he was able to jump-off his bike before it slammed on the Explorer.  Judging by  the damage sustained by the SUV,   I could tell that there was  a very strong impact. Lubog yung gilid and sira talaga.

This morning,  Minnie,  of Ford Group Philippines,  spoke to Edmund.  She told him that she has a big problem.  Siya pa la nabangga nung biker.  She was the one driving the Explorer.  She was entering the property of a realtor,  when all of a sudden something really loud and strong hit her car.  She didn’t even know what.

Ford Expedition

When we passed by the accident,  we didn’t spot her.  Yun pala she went inside the house to drink because she was so shaken.  And kaya pala we didn’t see the biker yesterday, he was rushed to the hospital in Tagaytay.  And this morning,  some policemen went to Minnie’s office in Santa Rosa, Laguna and informed her that the guy has died.  Oh my God.

Based on the initial info,  the person was a friend and guest of Regis Romero.  He was visiting from the US.   The bike was owned and registered under Regis Romero’s name.

Napaka sad naman nito.

(photos disappeared after oh my buhay crashed.)
