Trieste: After thousands of miles, we finally reached our first destination

Ang hilig magbyahe pero lagi namang nagco-complain sa tagal at pagod sa byahe.

We must accept that to reach a faraway place, we must travel thousands of miles.
After a long journey, my husband and I finally arrived at our first destination: Trieste, about a two-hour drive from the airport.

Venice’s biggest international airport is Venice Marco Polo Airport (Aeroporto di Venezia Marco Polo).
It is the main airport serving Venice and the surrounding Veneto region.

Ang haba at ang tagal ng pila sa immigration. The officer asked why we’re coming to Italy and she also looked for our return ticket to Manila. Edmund showed the digital copy on his phone.

I had pre-arranged with our hotel to send a driver, so I wouldn’t have to worry about transportation. Our driver, Gabriel, greeted us at the airport and asked for a quick ten-minute smoke break before we set off for Trieste, something that somehow felt quintessentially Italian.
Gabriel looked like a fashion model.

Trieste felt like a place tucked away from the chaotic world. It’s calm and quietly beautiful. And after thousands of miles of travel, a kababayan was the first person who greeted us at the hotel’s doorsteps. It was exactly the welcome we needed

This is Ryan. He’s been living in Italy for over twenty years and has been one of the trusted and valued employees of Hilton Hotel in Trieste for many years.
