We left Beijing in the afternoon of September 1. 2011 to the most advanced city I have seen so far, SHANGHAI.
Beijing’s International Airport is huge, ALL our airports can fit in here
I was fascinated with this intricate dragon design.
BMW display inside the airport
Sana kahit man lang katiting, eh gumanda rin ang airport natin para naman happy ang mga dayuhan at hindi nakakahiya.
Bus to and from the tarmac where our plane is parked.
It’s nice to have a jumbo jet waiting at your disposal. This A-320 costs US$55,000,000.
After a long day, it’s nice to go home to a comfortable room
We checked in at the Shangri-La in Pudong. I recognized the driveway but I wasn’t sure. When I opened the drapes in my room, I knew I have been in this same hotel. This is where we stayed when President Joseph Estrada went to Shanghai many many years ago. Except that time, the surounding areas were not yet as developed. Now, there’s an ultra high-end IFC Mall across the street, there’s the Super Brand Mall beside the hotel, etc.
View from my window, the river “The Bund”
Really nice room. One of the delegates, Fernando, told us he was so excited when he saw his room especially when he looked at the view. However, when he checked out, he was shocked to see his room charges, the room costs around US$400 a night! And that’s already enjoying a group discount. I wonder how much is the regular rate, maybe $700/night.
This was in my room, they even made a Philippine flag out of white chocolate, so sweet!
At the Shangri-La’s lobby, Atty. Opap Villonco, Ma-an Hontiveros and her friend Peachy Orosa
BCDA Chairman Tong Payumo, , me and Atty. Arnel Casanova
IFC Mall, it’s a lot more expensive to buy branded goods in China, their tax is higher.
Our guide said this is currently the tallest building in the world. Hindi abot ng camera ko.
Traffic in Beijing is like Manila’s. But in Shanghai, traffic is not so bad.
Oh, what is that giant UFO-looking thingy lying down on the road?
It’s a SUN DIAL. It’s just so amazing.
Notice how clean and orderly their streets are.
Look, unlike in EDSA, there are NO BILLBOARDS SHOWING MACHO MEN’s “puson”.
This is a huge tower, I couldn’t get off the bus to take a better shot.
Buenos Dias I would just like to offer my thanks for the info you have here on this post.
Hey, i know, Two Nights in Shanghai | Oh My Buhay can be better than this? I can’t stop reading about it.
