Valentines Romantic Dinner

I left the office a little bit earlier today to beat the heavy Valentines day traffic. and mind you, today’s Friday and payday too.

This morning’s traffic was already bad.

913

I grabbed a few things from the grocery. I did this in 10 minutes. Paying took much longer.
041

One of the rare times that I was given exact change. Thank you.
042

It’s watermelon season. I bought some to make watermelon shake.
043

I have a 4 pm appointment with Ruben Panelo. He’s going to our house to measure Nyke’s cabinets. With a traffic jam like this,  reaching home at 5 pm would be a blessing.

Where are all this people going anyway? Hotels, motels, restaurants, home?
952

I bought muna sorbetes before going straight home. The sun’s rays were still hot at 5 pm. Summer na.
045

Ruben was already waiting when I arrived.
I want to order some cabinets for Nyke. He needs more space for work clothes.
047

I set this table this morning. It’s too pink, pang Valentines talaga. I doubt if any of my housemates would come home to eat dinner here. I will not cook na lang.
048

You are so beautiful, to me.
050

My son arrived at 6 pm. Aba, ang aga. He said Milton has a date, Jules has a date, Calvin has a date. even his gay friend has a date.
Ow, he’s still going out daw with Michael and two other single guys. Silang apat, walang mga girlfriend.

In half hour, his Xavier friend came, carrying a lunch box. Aba, how sweet, he cooked something for his girlfriend. His first time to cook.
Instead of dining in a restaurant where it would be crowded, he rented the village’s gazebo. I asked him if he’s going to propose? No daw.
Then I asked him if they’re going to a motel. “She might get pregnant”. He was embarrassed but he smilingly answered “no auntie”. He’s so cute.
051

They left after 15 minutes. How about me? Where am I going? It’s 6:50 pm.

Maligo habang nagmumuni-muni. Timba para tipid sa tubig.
055

7:04
Edmund——– “Tart, saan tayo kakain?”
Edmund’s here, asking me where we’re going to eat?

When your husband asks you that question, that means he doesn’t have any preparation. It’s more of an obligation.

Me———— “Dito na lang”.

I continued with my relaxing bath.
Ang tipid naman ng soap na ito. Baka abutin pa ito tatlong Valentines.
056

I used this instead. It’s a facial wash actually but I don’t use it naman. Para maubos na, I used it all over my body.
058

This would be my Valentine daster.
053

I was wearing my daster when I went out of my bathroom. Edmund was watching tv with his pants on but no shirt. I think he’s waiting in case I want to eat out. Naku dito na lang sa bahay. I don’t want this Valentine thing to be obligatory.

he asked me again where we’re eating. Here na lang. If we have food daw. I told him to give me 10-15 minutes, I’ll cook steak.

I boiled 3 medium sized potatoes. I cut in half so they cook faster.

Fried crisp two bacon strips, finely chopped spring onion, and sour cream.
A faster way to prepare baked potatoes without baking.
063

I panfried two 1/3″ thick tenderloin steak.
Everytime my husband made subo, merong sound effect “Ang sarap!”
Isa pa daw pero split kami. I cooked one more.

062

I opened the box of Red Ribbon from our accountants, heart-shaped cake! Will eat that tomorrow.
079

We both had buko sorbet with basil for dessert.
066

He found my decor pink na pink.
Edmund——— “kahit napkins, pink”.

I told him the flowers came from the bouquet given to Oyen by her suitor. I just added the greens and white angels as fillers.

He thought the vase came with the flowers.

No romantic photo because I was wearing daster and he was in sando. Naka pantulog na kami.

I came across a short article in the Philippine Star this morning, from DOH, reminding young couples to play it safe tonight.

Yung mga nag bo-boating sa Manila Bay, boating-tingan. Careful, you might fall off the boat.

Those intending to engage in intense excitement tonight, be safe daw. Use condom.

Those are reminders for young people, or those who are still in the early stages of their relationships.

Reminders for old couples:

Maglips to lips before going to bed tonight kasi today’s a special day. Be romantic.
Mag-lips to lips nga. Ayaw? Needs more preparation, concentration and lakas ng sikmura?
Sige na nga, try again next year.

Edmund is already asleep, tapos na Valentines, I  forgot to remind him, mag-li-lips to lips din kami dapat. Bukas na lang. But he would play golf tomorrow, magsisimba kami sa gabi. We’ll be too tired in the evening. On Sunday, we need rest ano?
Next week would be a busy week. We’ll have stay-cation next week end.
Aba, March na? We’re going to Batanes, baka may jetlag ako. Birthday ni Oyen, then the two of us are going to Bicol for a wedding. After that, may jet lag uli ako.

Holy Week na agad?  Bawal maglips to lips pag Holy Week kasi fasting and abstinence.
Sige after Easter Sunday na lang.
I need to prepare. This is going to be tough. It’s too soon.
