It’s been a week since I got this Seoul City Tours brochure from the hotel concierge.
I have flipped through its pages a hundred times, trying to look at the amount of time I needed to join. Which one would suit my schedule while staying at the hospital.
Today was a lot better than the days before because my husband’s pain subsided. Meron pa rin but not as bad as in the past few days. I can leave him for a few hours. I mentioned to him that I wanted to join a short tour on Korean history, local food, etc.
I asked for the nurse’s help to contact the tour operator because it was so hard to speak to anyone due to language barrier. This nurse couldn’t understand what I was asking her to do so she asked another nurse to help her out. The other nurse scolded me. She typed on Google translate her sermon in Korean then showed me the screen in English “your husband is sick and you are leaving him?”
I answered yes.
Then she typed again “the patient is very sick and guardian must stay.”
So I stayed. I lost interest to go out. I just wanted to break my routine and do some walking.
The nurses made me feel guilty. Para bang anong klase kang asawa, may sakit itong asawa mo eh gusto mo pang mamasyal.
