Edmund’s last day in the hospital, we can now go home

It was beneficial that we extended our hospital stay for another two days.  The inflammation healed some more and the pain subsided.

Edmund’s surgeon,  Dr. Bae, came in at exactly 8 am, just as what the nurse had told us yesterday.

I like their work ethics here.   They recognize that punctuality is the embodiment of consideration and mindfulness of other people’s precious time.   It’s respect for the patient’s welfare.

The amount of attention and care given to my husband at Wooridul Spine Hospital was very good. They know we are leaving tonight, they prepared all his medicines and gave him printed instructions.

I enjoy walking to the nearby Starbucks daily to get my husband one hot Grande Americano, with hot steamed milk and sugar. This ups my steps by a few hundred.

I bought sandwiches for lunch from the convenience store located on this street.

The hospital’s foreign patient coordinator and interpreter, Ruth, leaves more instructions to Edmund. The hospital is very thorough. Unlike in the Philippines, the doctor will give a prescription, and a few scribbles he alone could understand. Here, the nurses also explain the prescriptions and instructions item by item to make sure the patient understands.

This was my sweet corner from August 9 to 18, 2025, ten days and nine nights. I survived the super tigas pillow.

My sweet corner for 10 days

Room 1407 is located on the 14th floor, and its at the corner of the building, and has a very expansive view of the city. Some rooms have several patient beds in it. I wish ours had a writing desk.

Ang sabi sa instructions bawal yumuko, bawal lumuhod. Nakakatakot mabinat.

Ruth and Edmund

We’re finally going home. Thank you dear L.
