The PAL flight was on time. Although the plane was so full, trip was hindi matagtag. I couldn’t sleep so I went to the pantry and started chatting with a male flight attendant. He said his wife is a stewardess but took up nursing hoping to work in Canada. But she would only end up as a caregiver so they decided not to proceed with that plan. So they’re back with PAL. They’re still hoping to relocate to a more progressive country in the near future.
It took us almost an hour to clear thru the immigration, ang haba ng pila.
The customs officer approached us as soon as we’ve loaded our baggage on the cart. We burst into laughter when he started a litany of Filipino favorites. “Do you have tosino, langgonisa, chicharon, adobong baboy, bagoong….. ?” Para syang may karinderia, kabisado nya lahat ng mga pagkain natin.
(The shrimps are no longer in the picture. They’re now in my son’s tummy.)
