At long last, no more tears. Bye hospital, we’re going home.
After paying the additional hospital charges for the additional two-day hospital stay, we’re free to go.
KRW 887,400 is approximately P 38,410.00.

Edmund was given medications good for the next two months.
We left the hospital at 3 pm, quite early for our 8:30 pm flight.
Traffic was slow getting out of the city but once we hit the highway, it was a lot faster.
We were glad we left when we did. We didn’t get worried that we could be late for our departure.
We’ve noticed the modern infrastructures and residential buildings along the highway that extended outside the city. We saw how progressive and well-managed this country is. Sana naman kahit konti, makagaya naman tayo sa kanila. But at the rate our country is moving, this kind of progress will remain a dream.
We were too early for our flight which was good because we didn’t feel rushed.
My husband was not used to being assisted and had difficulty slowing down. He was mad when I insisted on pushing the cart containing our luggage.
He sat down on one of the benches near the check in counters while I looked for the tax refund counter.
The PAL counter opened at 5:30 pm. There was a lady who was first in line, with me next.
Someone approached me to say the counter was ready, the other lady checked in at another counter. I avoided looking at her baka kasi sabihin tsismosa ako. From my peripheral vision, I noticed she was glancing at me occasionally. Nothing wrong with that. We all do that out of curiosity, or sometimes, we’re just looking for the sake of looking.
She was glanced at me and at my checked in bags. She was just curious.
The PAL staff requested if my husband could come to the counter too. So I called Edmund.
Edmund told me that the lady passenger looked at us from head to toe. She looked at me specifically.
I didn’t notice because I wasn’t paying attention to her. I was facing the PAL ground crew.
Tiningnan daw kami mula ulo hanggang paa. Edmund said kasi daw mukhang mumurahin yung mga bagahe ko.
Di ba nga I bought a $54 luggage from Myeongdong? The ladies bags were two Rimowa-looking navy blue luggage, one dark blue LV carry on, one Yuka Saso overnight bag. Comparing with hers, talagang mumurahin ang luggage na dala namin. And why did I know in detail her bags? Kasi I stood behind her for 30 minutes while waiting for the PAL counter to open.
When it was time to board, she wanted to be the first to board, but the PAL staff stopped her and asked her to wait. When many of the passengers had already boarded, I saw her walking to the middle section of the plane.
Hanggang makauwi kami, my husband was still telling me why the lady looked at us from head to toe. Kasi nga daw mumurahin lang ang luggage ko. He he he, traveling is not a competition. Hindi sya pagandahan ng bags. Basta kasya gamit ko at matibay. But the white luggage I had just bought in Myeongdong, sira na agad yung zipper. Another one for give away.
By the way, I would like to express my appreciation to PAL purser, Gretchen, and to the flight attendant, Ralph. Their jobs play a role in ensuring passengers feel at ease in their journey. Gretchen and Ralph made me and Edmund feel comfortable and relax during the four hours flight.
Thanks too to Captain Michael Valdez, for a smooth flight and landing despite two typhoons hovering in the Philippine sky.
And above all, thank you Lord for Edmund’s successful spine operation. His strength and courage is unbelievable.
