Edmund and I attended this evening the 18th birthday of Camille Tyrene Dee, the eldest daughter of one of Edmund’s golf friends, Ateng Dee. Camille graduated valedictorian from the Immaculate Concepcion Academy (ICA) in Greenhills and received three full scholarships from UP, La Salle and Ateneo but she chose Ateneo, where she’s now a freshman taking up Applied Math/ Finance. She is a certified Math Whizard, having competed and won in many Math Olympiads here and abroad.

We were already sleepy even before we left our house. The place was only 30% occupied when we arrived at 7:15 pm The debutante arrived at 8:15 pm.

My simple silk dress is by Amir Sali. He made that before Christmas but it’s only now that I’m wearing it.

We left at 10:15 pm while the teenage girls from ICA are still reading their wishes for Camille.

Eto na ang problema, how to finish drinking this glass of magnesium citrate that a friend prescribed to me to cleanse my colon of all that food debris. It took a lot of heaving, sighing, contemplating, stretching, buntong hininga and prodding from my son before I finished one glass. Hay, parusa. It tastes like lemonade but in my mind it’s still medicine. I hope it works.
