The name Amanda seems like one of America’s favorite girl names. For the past two months, I’ve met five ladies named Amanda. One is an insurance agent and two are designers but based in different cities, and two are working in different real estate developer sales offices.
I am in communication with the three ladies, the insurance agent, and the two out of state designers. Several times my calls and emails went to the wrong Amanda. It’s embarrassing on my part and of course, annoying on their part.
Add to that, we one time made usyoso a model home near the church. And guess what? The lady on duty on that one Sunday was named Amanda. Since I was the one who signed in the guest book, of course, she now makes follow ups if I am really going to buy a house. Naki usyoso lang kami after visiting the adoration chapel. Sold out na daw sila and the model home is the last to go. She sounded heartbroken when I told her my friend said she is not buying a house any time soon.

This reminds me of that evening when we had the pleasure of hosting a simple dinner for Journey’s superstar lead singer Arnel Pineda His wife’s name is Cherry. His manager’s name is Cherry. Our cook that time is named Cherry. Everytime I would call our maid, Arnel’s wife and manager would both look at me. Pati yung wife ni Arnel and yung manager nya napapatingin sa akin. We were all confused. I was glad my mother didn’t name me Cherry kundi naloko na.

Some mothers name their children after fruits. This is cute and sweet. I know there are girls named Orange, Apple, Strawberry, Peaches but so far I haven’t met a girl named Banana.
Meron pero real name nya Pacing. Saging ni Pacing.
