Good morning sunshine removes jaundice

Lolo stayed up from 3 am to take care of our 11-day-old newborn grandchild. Theo has jaundice and needs morning sunshine so Lolo brings him to the roof deck or sometimes just beside the window in the nursery.

Jaundice is common in newborn babies marked by yellowing of the skin and the eyes caused by the excess pigment of bilirubin. It usually goes away after a few weeks without the need for medical intervention. Morning sunshine is a natural cure. Frequent urination and poo would also expel the excess bilirubin from the baby’s stream. High levels of this pigment can cause serious health problems if it’s prolonged.
Oyen and Nyke had jaundice too when they were newly born. After a few days of early morning sunshine, peeing, pooping, and before I knew it, their yellowish color had disappeared. I hope this would be the same with Theo. I hope in a week or two his jaundice is gone.
