Happy Bday Anak

Twenty something years ago today, I gave birth to one beautiful baby girl. The doctors and nurses said that all babies were cute, but my daughter was different, she’s soooo pretty and her skin was pinkish.

I gave birth thru cesarian section so I only got to see her after 3 days. Edmund wheeled me into the nursery section. I saw this baby girl looking like an angel, her ilong so tangos.

and today, I not only have a pretty baby damulag girl, I have a 24/7 best friend and confidante.
Happy Birthday Anak. I love you, you will always be my favorite daughter.

Julienne was so white when she was little. She became more and more kayumanggi as she got older.
One evening when she was two, she told her dad
Baby Julienne——- ” Dad, why is your color brown? You should pray to God to make you white, not brown.”

We rented this nice duplex for 3 years. It had three large bedrooms, a maid’s room and 3 bathrooms. There was an atrium beside the dining area and a small family area upstairs. There was a big mango tree in the backyard.
My Kuya Lito was the one paying for our rent, I think P4,000 a month which was a lot during those days. One morning while we were having breakfast, the landlady was sitting in our sala trying to collect rent that’s not yet due. I think she needed some cash kasi magma- mahjong. It was a very awkward moment. Parang yung mga tele novela na nadyan na yung masungit na landlady.

The house was spacious and really nice. We left kasi we built na our own house. Actually we wanted to extend the lease by 30 days kasi the construction of our house wasn’t finished yet, but the owner didn’t agree that’s why we had no choice but to temporarily live with my in-laws in Malabon for about a month.
Actress Cherrie Gil rented the duplex and moved in immediately after we vacated it.

She memorized every word in all her books. Giant Hello Kitty was a gift from her Ninong Rey Tio Cuizon, a classmate of mine in college.

We always brought her to my Kuya Lito’s former office at Suite 902 State Financing Center, Ortigas Avenue beside POEA.

We stayed in the US for 5 months when she was 2 1/2. We brought home these toys from Toy’s R US. I bought her beautiful dress from Nordstrom. I remember it was a major purchase at $75 + sales tax. I don’t know where that dress is now, nanakaw na yata. Sayang.
