Remember my na unsyami’ng USS John Stennis’ rendezvous when typhoon Mina battered Manila on that very same day the reception was scheduled ? (Please see related post dated August 28, 2011 titled USS JOHN C. STENNIS).
Well, I am going on tuesday, not on USS John Stennis but this time on board the USS DEWEY (DDG105).
This is an Arleigh Burke – class guided missle destroyer in the US Navy. It’s the third navy ship named after Admiral George Dewey, hero of the Battle of Manila Bay during the Spanish-American War. Roxas Boulevard’s original name is Dewey Blvd.
Yep yep hooray! Typhoon typhoon go away. Come another day, when USS Dewey has sailed away!
