Judge Brett Kavanaugh

I follow closely the developments on the sexual allegations by three women against United State’s Supreme Court justice nominee Judge Brett Kavanaugh. Among the three women, only Dr. Christine Blasey Ford was given a chance to present her case against the Senate Judiciary Committee.

According to Blasey Ford’s account of the sexual assault that happened 36 years ago in high school, she was on her way to the toilet on the second floor of a house where the party was, when Brett Kavanaugh and his school friend named Mark Judge pushed her into a nearby room. Kavanaugh pinned her on the bed and started grinding on top of her. She still remembers the two guys were incessantly laughing. Kavanaugh covered her mouth with his hand when she started screaming for help. The second time Mark Judge jumped on the bed, they all fell which gave her a chance to get away. Mark Judge is now a journalist and has written a book titled Wasted.

According to Dr. Ford, she just kept this extremely traumatic experience to herself. She now believes it is her civic duty to speak out so that America would know what Brett Kavanaugh did to her.

The Republican team questioned her credibility by asking questions about her alleged fear of air travel and yet how come she was in Hawaii, etc. always having vacations. US President Trump ungentlemanly taunted her “I don’t remember” answers during his speech. I found that very undignified for a president.

If the FBI investigation will be incomplete then the American people would be deprived of the chance to know whether or not the sexual allegations about Brett Kavanaugh have some factual basis.

The position of a Supreme Court Justice is for life and the person who will be bestowed with that honor must have an impeccable reputation and untainted character. Judge Brett Kavanaugh certainly has strong academic credentials and work experiences however that’s not the only qualifications necessary for this position. America must make sure that he has an unblemished past, that he didn’t perjure himself when asked about his drinking and 100% didn’t sexually assault those three women.

    1. Hi,
The Senate voted 50-48 in favor of Kavanaugh’s confirmation.
Good if he indeed wasn’t Christine Blasey Ford’s sexual assailant because America deserves a Supreme Court Chief Justice with irreproachable character.

  1. His demeanor though during the hearing is conduct unbecoming of one of the future justices of the supreme court. It’s obvious that he was lying about his heavy drinking days.
