Las Vegas Shooting at Least 59 dead

Bong, Len, and I are staying in an Airbnb house 20 minutes away from The Strip. Five pm we’re already back in our room from our late lunch with Bong’s high school classmate in San Beda, Danny. I also have painful sore throat and muscle aches so we chose to just stay here holed up in our room.

Buti na lang we didn’t go out anymore tonight to have dinner at the Strip.
Bong’s friend from Los Angeles was messaging him trying to find out if we’re okay because there was a mass shooting at the Mandalay Bay Casino.

At least fifty people were dead, more than 500 injured and some were critically wounded so the figure is still expected to rise. The gunman, Stephen Paddock was on top of the Mandalay Bay building with at least 10 rifles. .
There was an outdoor concert being held when bursts of gunfire from automatic or semi automatic weapon started but people didn’t know at first that it was a shooting. Some thought it was the sound of firecrackers. The 10,000 – 20,000 people who were at the outdoor country music concert became easy targets for the shooter.

We live in a dangerous world. There are people who are out to cause trouble and hurt peace-loving people. I feel so bad that this is happening. There’s no safe place anymore. Kawawa yung mga nasaktan at namatay. I hope those wounded fully recover.

God please protect and save us.

  1. Good to know you are safe Ms. Annie. When I heard the news, I thought about you instantly since you are in Nevada.
