Meralco’s Christmas Village

I don’t know when Meralco started having a Christmas village with giant belen and choo-choo train in their grounds during the Christmas season.

Nuong una, kala ko it’s for their employees lang.

Every time we would pass along Ortigas Avenue, I would always say “I want to go there”, but I never had. Until last week.

I was by myself, it was around 7 pm. New driver was a bit slow, tamang-tama, sabi ko
“ipasok mo dyan sa Meralco. sabihin mo sa guards, titingin lang tayo ng Christmas lights”.

There were about 80 people who were there enjoying the display. Some were foreign nuns, foreigners and local tourists.

The Ortigas building across the street has a giant rosary naman. Yan ang decor nila every year.

Giant belen

This was the only time I appreciated Meralco.
For about half an hour, I totally forgot that I hate them, kasi they eat-up a big chunk of our budget, both in our offices and at home.
