Edgardo “ED” Cordero

We had a surprise guest last friday.
Edmund came to my office and he told me someone wants to say hi to me.

What a pleasant surprise!

Edgardo “ED” Cordero was Edmund’s teammate in UST Glowing Goldies.
Ed, at 6’4 tall was the team’s center.

The last time I’ve seen him was at our wedding, 30 years ago!!!

He came around noon that’s why we already have food ready- chicken inasal. Perfect timing.

He couldn’t eat properly because his left hand and arm were bandaged. Nabalian yata.
I ran out of tissue paper kaya toilet paper na lang. Cowboy naman sya.

6’4 with 5’4 = pandakekak

We had so much fun talking about the old days, like when his college girlfriend and I used to wait together while they were in the gym practicing basketball under coach Serafico. Ang sarap ng kwentuhan namin, umabot kami ng 3 pm.

Ed is presently the Assistant Coach of the Mapua basketball seniors team. Fortunato “Atoy” Co is the new head coach of the Mapua Cardinals.

Trivia:
The UST Glowing Goldies was so close to the UAAP championship. On the day of the final game against FEU, Ed Cordero couldn’t play because he was sick. No matter how hard and good Edmund and Frank Natividad played, it was just an impossible task to beat FEU with UST missing its valuable center. At ang gagaling ng players ng FEU. Pero sayang talaga.
