My second time with Tiger Woods

This is my second time with Tiger Woods. The first was two years ago in Pebble Beach.

Edmund bought tickets to the practice round so that I could take some pictures. During practice rounds, spectators were allowed to bring bags, cameras, and phones unlike during the actual tournament na super higpit sila. I wished to take Tiger Wood’s pictures while he plays golf.

Edmund and I took the BART to Colma Station on June 16, where hundreds of shuttle buses ferried golf fans to The Olympic Club in San Francisco.

They were very organized. Buses were waiting and they set up an office here for the cellphones and cameras.

The shuttle bus brought us to the tournament site. No cameras are allowed so there are no more pictures from this moment forward.

The Olympic Club golf course is hilly and with lots of trees. I made the mistake of wearing my plastic sandals which didn’t have spikes, I slid down 3x buti na lang Edmund is a macho man, kayang-kaya nya ako bitbitin with one arm, which prevented me from sliding down all the way to the man-made pond. I also slipped on the floor of the very bantut make-shift toilet. Muntik na ako na shoot dun sa malaking butas na may blue chemicals para hindi mabantot pero mabantut pa rin.

Tiger‘s tee-off time was at 3:30 pm. Edmund found a good spot where I would have a good view of Tiger 3 x, when he’s at Hole 1, 2, and 3. I just sat there, made tiis first the cold breeze, then the extreme glare and heat and making pigil my weewee. All these were made bearable by the thought that Tiger and I would be reunited after two years. I was very excited to see Tiger again. The other players were there too like Phil Michelson, Justin Rose, Ernie Els, but my only happiness was to see even an inch of Tiger.

Tiger was leading the day before with a score of one under. But today, he was a bogey on the first hole, and by the time we saw him, he was already one down with Furyk leading. But all that did not matter to us, whether he wins or not, his thousands of fans including yours truly were still rooting for him.

We did not get disappointed, Edmund and I saw him played and when he was walking towards Hole # 3, about 8 meters away from where Edmund and I stood, Edmund said “hayan na, tawagin mo na”. So I called out unashamedly “Tigerrrrrr” with my right hand waving at him. Nakita nya kaya ako? Mukhang malabo, there were probably 1,000 other people who were also waving at him.

Edmund and I wished Tiger Woods won the 112th US Golf Open but Webb Simpson took the grand prize.
See you again Tiger, mag-practice kang mabuti ha.
