We were not able to watch Born to Love You so we just went to Alvarado Niles in Fremont. At the farthest end of Alvarado Niles Boulevard is where the antique stores are. The stretch is called Niles.
They were having a fair complete with an outdoor mini concert with a live band.
If you are an antique lover, summer months are heydays because weekly antique faires are held practically in every county or state here in the US and also in Europe.
The antique shops are concentrated in about 3 short blocks.
I think I gave this musician a dollar.
Tyme for Tea is one of my favorite antique and china stores. It’s very charming, they sell brand new and antique porcelain and other collectibles.
This Royal Albert Country Roses pattern has become so popular and common. I also have a service for about 16 people. I bought the service for 8 from London about 20 years ago. When Lotis Key visited our house a few years ago, she saw my set and told me she is selling an original set from England which is about 50 years old and have never been used.
She shipped them to Aileen from Minesotta where she’s based, and Aileen shipped them to Manila. I don’t want to buy anymore of this pattern because the ones being sold today are made in Indonesia. Royal Albert no longer makes them in England.
I love fine porcelain, I am not sure if this set below is from England or Japan.
The person who wrote this probably had me in mind as his inspiration. This is just so me. I always like to imagine. I day dream, I night dream, I am a dreamer. Sometimes I am up the whole night because I am imagining of doing things that are simply impossible to accomplish.
This dish comes with two de-de looking sauce compartments.
French Limoges Porcelain Boxes are highly collectible and are very popular. They are still made today from the western region of France called Limoges. One small porcelain box retails for $100 and up. There are made in China replicas but if you are collecting, buy the ones from France.
Tiffany Lamps are also of great value if they are the real thing. There are many replicas nowadays. If you like the Victorian era, a tiffany lamp would blend well with your decor. There are Victorian vintage gowns that are available from antique dealers, buy one and wear at home. Sit beside your tiffany lamp, have your picture taken with a matching hat and umbrella, and post on facebook. See how many LIKES you will get. If you get at least a dozen, this means you should buy more of this dresses and make it your daily office wear.
Chinese people said that when you give a watch or clock as a gift, include some money. They also consider as taboo giving a clock as a wedding present. This superstitution has been handed down from generation to generation hence there are so many interpretations. Some say that the newly married cople would separate. Edmund and I received a clock for our wedding. The couple who gave the clock are now separated. Maybe that’s just purely a coincidence.
There are shops in Manila that import vintage pianos, refurbish and recondition them and they sell like new.
No problem in that, just be prepared that the piano could be playing music by itself in the middle of the night.
I just love this vintage grill work. It would be perfect for our house in Manila but I didn’t know how to shoot it in the balikbayan box.
Our house in Manila is French-inspired. I have stopped buying wall decors because we’ve ran out of walls to hang them.
I wish this dog could fit in my maleta, I would like to give this to Edmund for his birthday in August.
Sorry Len, parang yung bandera ang na i focus ko.
