JANUARY 12, 2012–I bought a new memory stick for my Sony camera in Robinson’s Pioneer. There’s a contest among Ford dealers and it comes with a P50,000 grand prize. We have to come up with a music video about our company which would be shown and judged during the annual Ford dealers convention on friday, January 20. I will use the 8 gb to take pictures and video clips of our facility and staff.
I also drank a cup of pure apple juice with one small piece of carrot P120/small cup. I cannot drink pure carrot juice kasi when it’s pure, hindi ko malunok.
It’s Chinese New Year on monday, January 23, and Filipinos and Chinese alike are buying good luck charms.
This stall near the escalator sells every anting-anting, “pampa swerti“.
Come swerti come.
Year of the Dragon
The sales lady holds a brass bowl, she places the item you bought from her and she strikes the bowl once which gives a sound similar to a gong. May gimmick pa sya.
She pay-pay the peso bill to her goods, again, another pampa swerti. But this ritual shows that she’s not at all Chinese, but a Muslim. Muslims like to pay-pay their money on the items they are selling. Sige, subukan mo, go to Greenhills and buy something using peso bill/s.
I got so curious, meron syang gimmick. I bought this tiny red envelope that contains a gold bar kuno pero the design naman is not a dragon.
Annie– Miss, ano yan?
Miss— Good luck yan, pampa swerti
Annie– Magkano?
Miss— Singkwenta
Annie– okay (I gave her P50 bill)
She placed the red envelope in the brass bowl and struck it once, parang gong yung tunog.
Miss– Oh, kunin mo gamit ang kanang kamay. At ideretso sa wallet.
I paused for a few seconds. My mom told me to use my left hand because she said my left hand is masinop and my right is magastos.
I followed the sales lady, took the red envelope with my right hand.
kaso I didn’t put it straight into my wallet. I dropped it into my make-up kit. Baka hindi wallet ko ang kumapal, baka mukha ko sa kapal ng make-up.
Naku old stock na ito, tila Year of the Snake pa. Tila nauto yata ako.
