We skipped mass last night. Edmund came home from golf complaining of bad tummy. He must’ve eaten something bad daw.
I messaged Oyen and Nyke that we would just have dinner at home.
The steak was still frozen but since they were cut thinner, it only took a few minutes to thaw them.
I prepared the marble potatoes first. I pierced each one of them so they cook faster. I dumped the left over sour cream from our Valentines dinner, crispy bacon and spring onions. Okay na yan.
This doesn’t look appetizing but masarap yan. Agawan pa nga kami, it was gone in 5 minutes.
I pan fried the steak, no oil, but I sweat the pan with butter. Pa-sweat-sweat na ako ngayon. I heard that word from a foreign chef. Ang enet na ngayon, na se sweat ako.
We all ate the steak within minutes. Para kaming nakikipaghabulan. I told them kasi to eat it while it’s still hot. Grabe, ang bilis naming kumain. I cooked everything in 15 minutes, we ate in 10. We could win in speed eating contests.
Edmund noticed the big bowl of soup. We have soup pala. Ang bilis ko ano? Naluto ko pa yan while boiling the potatoes. I cooked corn soup.
After we’re done with the main course, at saka pa lang kami nag-soup. Nabaligtad.
Oyen and Edmund each had a slice of black forest cake
while my son and I both had sorbet with freshly picked Thai basil.
Edmund transferred the herbs from the pots to the sides of our front fence. They look so much healthier now and they’ve grown a lot bigger. We pick minutes before use para fresh na fresh.
