Rain was pouring nonstop last Monday. Half of our employees were absent. I noted down the names of all those who braved the rains and who committedly came to the office and did their respective jobs.
We dismissed them at noon. Edmund kept calling me.
“Tart wala ng pasok, I-dismiis mo na sila”.
“O, tayo, manonood ba tayo ng sine?”
When Edmund and I were in college, when classes were suspended due to typhoon, our first destination was the movie house. Ang sarap manood ng sine pagmay bagyo at magkissing-kissing sa sinehan. Young lovers…
I checked the movies currently showing in Eastwood and found WOLVERINE starring the super maskulado Hugh Jackman. Showing at 2:30 and 5:20 pm
Edmund chose the 2:30 pm screening at Cinema 3.
We arrived in Eastwood at 2:35 pm but they were still showing the trailers.
Ang mahal naman ng tickets. My last recollection was tickets were only P150 each.
Ticket clerk—– “Sir, saan?”
Edmund—– “yung pinakamalayo”.
Nung araw, we chose the seats at the farthest end so we could cuddle and kiss.
Ngayon, ganun pa rin. we still choose seats at the farthest end, no longer because mag-ne-necking kami, but because I couldn’t see anymore when it’s too near. Blurred.
Edmund—— “Bibile ako ng popcorn”.
A———– “I’ll go find our seats”.
Trailers pa lang.
Edmund came in a few seconds before Wolverine started. Perfect timing sya. He had a big box of butter popcorn which we shared.
A—– “Tart, ang alat”.
Wolverine is full of action. They couldn’t have chosen the perfect lead actor.
Hugh Jackman’s body is pang Captain Barbel. Ang laki-laki, ng kanyang, katawan. ABS, maskels, veins, super. He’s a very good actor too. You should see his portrayal of Jean Valjean in Les Miserables with Anne Hathaway.
Wolverine is about a guy known as Logan, a mutant, who possesses exceptional strength and self-healing body which makes him virtually indestructible.
I want to discover how he ages very slowly. He is able to live beyond the normal human life span.
My favorite scene was the beginning, when the Japanese soldier released the prisoners of war when they saw that plane bombers were coming. He also tried to release Logan. The other soldiers committed Harakiri. But before he could stab himself, Logan stopped him. The planes dropped an atomic bomb. Logan and the young Japanese soldier scampered back to the bunker to protect themselves from the powerful blast.
At some point, I felt so tensed and tired watching the fight scenes.
My teeth wanted to jump out of my mouth every time Hugh Jackman’s metal claws or fingers scratched another metal. My teeth chattered with the sound of samurai swords. Nakakangilo.
Elysium would be next
