Edmund has a very old Breitling watch,  it must be 15 years old already.  He wears it every single day.  It’s fairly reliable except 5 years ago when it needed some overhauling.  The service center in Manila quoted 38,000  repair cost.

After we attended the Canton Fair,  we brought it to the Breitling center in HK to compare the costs.    The total repair  and reconditioning of his watch cost P24,000 equivalent.

It took them two months to do it.  We were able to get it after a few more months.  We timed it again after we came from the Canton Fair Exhibition in Guangzhou.

Last week,  Edmund accidentally yanked out the watch’s pihitan (crown).  He lost the tiny spare part, including the spring.

Tyempo that Nyke and I were coming here so we brought it to the Breitling service center.  They’ve moved to Causeway Bay just steps away from Sogo and from Excelsior Hotel.

The repair shop closes at 5 pm.  They advised me to bring the watch to the Breitling Boutique on the ground floor instead because they are open till 10 pm.

We did  (October 15, 2015 at 9 pm). The lady who received it seemed knowledgeable.  She did a preliminary inspection and noted down all visible defects.  She also promised to forward the watch to the service repair shop which is just on the second floor first hour on Friday morning.

She said they’re going to call after 5 or 7 days for the quotation.

Edmund was anxious to know how much the repair would be.  What’s taking them so long daw.  Maybe because I brought his watch to the boutique instead of the service center.  I assured him that they would take care of sending it to the shop.

I called this morning (October 19, 2015).  Ala,  Edmund was right.  That woman at the boutique failed to forward the watch to the service center which is just in the same office.  How inefficient and unreliable.  I was so mad.  I screamed at the woman on the phone.   Nakakainis talaga.  I couldn’t contain my disappointment.

I called again and they said the Boutique manager is handling her.  I don’t exactly know what she meant but I am just guessing siguro sinesermonan.

They don’t have the missing crown and bezel parts so I will have to leave the watch with them for several months. Edmund has many golf friends who come to Hongkong so retrieving his watch won’t be a problem. If not, that would be a good excuse to visit Hongkong.
