I bought a vintage 1958 Rolex watch some 12 years ago from a certain David in Hollywood Road. It’s so tiny and flimsy. It’s not good for everyday use, parang madaling masira. Hayun na nga. One hand fell off. I had it fixed in Galleria but there was always something wrong with it.

Every time I would go back to Hollywood Road, David’s store was always closed.

The last time was when I was with Edmund, siguro 4 years ago. I booked a hotel in the area, na stress pa si Edmund because it was only a 3 or zero star boutique hotel.

Nyke and I went back the other day and David’s shop was closed.
I spoke to his neighbor and he said he has not seen David for a long time.

I gave up. This was my third time looking for him.

My son walked and walked going towards Causeway Bay. We just explored the area, looking at interesting things.

When we were about to cross a street, we noticed a vintage watch repair shop and store.

Wow swerte. I went inside and showed them my watch. They checked its mechanism and told me it’s working well. Except that it runs very fast, like 4 minutes faster in a day. I can live with that. The guy said that’s normal in vintage watches, and it would be too expensive to repair it. May not be worth it.

Nag-usyoso rin kami ng watches. This is a 60 year old Rolex bought from Europe, price HK39,500.

I no longer want to buy a vintage watch. They are not cheap and difficult to handle.
