Metamucil

By this time at least a thousand people already know that this old woman is constipated. And there’s no denying because I have unglamorously announced it to the whole world thanks to my blog oh my buhay.

I was already in panic mode thinking of all the kilos of food I have been dumping into my belly. Where all those garbage go. I was becoming desperate. A good friend went to St. Luke’s to get me some liquid, I forgot the name, it tasted like lemonade, except that I hate lemonade. I drank one bottle with eyes and nose closed. I achieved great success the following morning. But after that, my stomach was back to normal, meaning, it is so selfish, not wanting to let go of even a tiny discard from all the junk food I am giving to it. In desperation, I was already planning to drink milk, yung panis na. I thought maybe I can invade someone else’s refrigerator and find an expired can of milk.

I went to Dr. Palafox and he advised me to take fiber. He said he and his family take a capsule a day of Metamucil that could only be found in the US and in S&R in Manila. I don’t go to S&R in Manila, so when Edmund and I were in Costco, we bought several bottles of Metamucil Pyllium Fiber Capsules.

I have been taking several capsules a day for a week now and I am still observing its ability to cleanse my colon. And so far its showing some progress.

Metamucil is a multi health fiber, which according to Dr. Palafox and from the bottle’s literature, also helps lower cholesterol. If that proves true then it’s going to be a double celebration because I have high cholesterol too. We’ll see, I remain hopeful.
