Steve, It’s a small world indeed

Diablo Ford doesn’t have the computer box we were looking for. They were nice enough to point us to an autoparts shop that may have this obsolete Ford Expedition spare parts.

It was only 10 minutes away.

I got off the car because I didn’t know how long it would take Edmund.

Must be difficult to have a store with thousands of tiny items that could easily be stolen, that’s why this store has dozens of cameras.

They also sell mineral water, it’s located on the same shelf as the windshield cleaner. If you’re not careful baka mainom mo pa ito, mapagkamalang juice.

They also do not have the spare parts we were looking for, nor they could fix it. But we met Steve, born Filipino. It’s a small world indeed.

Does this guy look Filipino to you? This is Steve, he was born in the Philippines, he was six years old when they moved to America. His grandfather is American married to a Filipina. His father is half American, half Filipino, his mother is Syrian. When they were already in the US, his father told them “No more speaking of Tagalog, we are now Americans”.

That’s too bad. I know many Filipinos who migrated here have that kind of stupid mentality. Siguro they had a miserable life in the Philippines that they want to totally forget that they’re Filipinos.

Steve‘s father went back to the Philippines after his retirement. He had a heart attack and died while in the Philippines.
Steve and his mother, and his siblings, were not able to collect his father’s pension because they found the documentation requirements overwhelming. His father also left some tracts of land and a house in the Philippines which they were not able to take possession of.
