Edmund has been suffering from moderate to severe lower back pain since last week. I asked him what he did that could have caused the pain. Nag-stretch lang daw sya. Baka muscular lang. Baka meron lang naipit na ugat.
Pero bilib ako sa kanya, meron back pain pa yan ha pero he won the golf finals in Camp Aguinaldo last week. It’s good that the championship game will be in December. He has time to rest his back. His opponent is his kumpare, Jec jec Mendoza, an equally good golfer.
The pain became more severe yesterday. He put hot water, salonpas, mentholated creme from OMB reader Bes. Meron pang electric massage.
Plus pain relievers. Wala, the pain subsisted.
This morning he went to Cardinal Santos Hospital and had a stomach ultrasound. He also went to St. Luke’s in Quezon City.
His blood test was normal. His creatinine level is within the normal range. Doctor suspects that his kidney stone is most likely the one causing the pain. Tonight he had CT Sonogram to zero in on his kidney stone. I went there to check on him. The scan was so quick. Para daw syang isinerox.
I was prepared to wait for a long time while he’s undergoing the scan. I brought some things to do. Since I just came from the grocery, I have the stickers. Rustan’s Supermarket has an on-going gimmick, they give a sticker for every P300 purchase. 50 stickers = one veggie-looking stuff toy.
I also brought my iPad mini. The scan was so quick. Hindi pa nanga-ngainit ang upo ko. Para lang daw syang isinerox.
The results would be ready on Wednesday pa. We’re supposed to be going somewhere on Friday. Pa’no kaya?. Baka ma postpone.
Miss Annie,
Try visiting a chiropractor. My colleagues who sit in their work desk for almost 8 hour straight had severe backpains too. After going to a chiro sobrang naging okay daw. Wala ng mabigat na feeling sa buto.
Hope this helps.
Dear DP, He doesn’t believe that chiro works, nevertheless I would relay to him your suggestion. Thank you.
Herniated disc to golfers occur as a wear and tear daw. I have a an aunt who is no golfer but had herniated disc she said the pain was so excruciating and asks anong mga naging kasalanan nya to experience such pain. She had an operation in the states at the age of mga 70s and stayed in a nursing home for rehab. Okay na sha. It helps also for quick recovery if the person is non smoker.
Joey I related to Edmund your story about herniated disc. Thank you.
Try ice compress for his back. Or alternate hot and ice compress. Much longer with hot e.g. 20 minutes, while cold compress is 10 minutes alternate many times.
Dee, I relayed to Edmund your suggestions. He did those already. Thank you.
If it not works, try 550 mg Naproxen twice a day, or thrice a day, or four times a day, as needed.
Take only when in pain.
Thank you Dee.
Acupuncture might be worth a try. (alternative but, older and more scientifically proven than chiropathy.)
Hi Ms. Annie,
I have read this while reading the blog of Ms. Tina Tagle, perhaps your husband can consider this and then decide after. Here’s the link;

Gd am Ms Annie.. Pls try the EPSOM SALT treatment.. Just put warm water in ur bath tub (water level should be waist-deep when he sits on the tub) and put the Epsom salt and ask sir Edmund to sit in the warm water bathtub for 30 minutes.. 🙂
My sister tried it and she said it helped to relieve her of her severe lower back pains.. 😉 She does the same whenever her back pains recur.. 🙂
I hope it will help sir Edmund too 🙂 take care and be safe always.. God bless u both.. 😉
Hi OMB, take a look at this video by Gary Crowley, it helped me heaps for my lower back and hip pain that was close to be debilitating months ago. Super easy but was a tremendous help to me. I was so close to visiting a chiro and/or a physio, but scared about my joints getting manipulated by someone else, scouring the web for searching for info, I found his site. His website dedicates different techniques for different joint pains. Have tried just a few simple ones for wrist, knee, back, shoulders, feet pain and I am in a much better place now. Comments on his different videos are reassuring.

Hope it helps, as it did me.
Thank you G for the link.
Great suggestions for pain relief, reading from the comments. But pain occurs because there is something wrong. It is a good step that Mr. Edmund had those diagnostic exams. I hope the doctor will be able to point out accurately what is happening. Masakit daw po talaga ang backpain sinasabi nga mga kakilala kong nakaranas na.
Now my Chinese neighbor whom I jog with in a memorial park in the morning, told me he recovered from backpain because he seek the help of a foreign- educated doctor who specializes on backpain. Ngayon talagang sabi nya masakit ang treatment kasi he was stretched and bent by the doctor. Hindi sha golfer pero he is a fire brigade volunteer sa Chinese community. Now he sits in the board na lang, hindi na masyadong active sa field. Am saying this because di ba ang mga firemen nagbubuhat ng mabigat na hose, baka nga sa wear and tear ang sanhi ng backpain.
Thank you Joey, I forwarded your comment to Edmund.
