Early dinner at Cafe Carmencita

Saturday, October 24, 2015

Edmund was hungry na daw kasi no lunch kami, we just ate 4 small pieces of young white corn. I reminded him that he has dinner with his Elmer. He said he’s not sure if he would be able to go because his back is breaking. He’ll see daw when we reach Manila if his condition improves. I gave him Ponstan 500 SF.

I’ve become a regular here at Cafe Carmencita in Aguinaldo Hway, Tagaytay City. He said he wanted Filipino dishes. All the Bulalo restaurants are full of weekenders. We no longer like going to Green ATZ kasi too public.

I suggested that we go to Cafe Carmencita but it’s not Filipino although they do have kare-kare.

There were three other vehicles in their small parking area. I was a bit anxious kasi I for some a small place, to have 3 vehicles could mean a big crowd is inside.

Edmund found the place noisy, not due to the other customers but from the motor vehicles passing along Aguinaldo Hway. And because the road was a little uphill, the buses and jeepney’s engines were revved up. Mas maingay. Na-conscious tuloy ako. Oo nga, maingay nga pala. Maybe because it’s weekend, there are more vehicles in Tagaytay.

Edmund ordered Shrimp Bisque.

I ordered my usual order here, callos.

He got Beef Salpicao for his main course, which came as a bit of a surprise. I don’t remember him ordering this dish ever because he hates garlic.
