Edmund was in Cebu from February 25 to March 2, 2019, for the annual PAL Seniors Interclub Golf Tournament.
His teammates flew to Cebu two days earlier for a practice round of golf. Since Edmund and I were in Bacolod up to February 23, he couldn’t leave sooner so he just played golf on February 24 with his other golf friends. He was so tired, coming from Bacolod, waking up at 5 am for golfthe next day, then drive to the trafficky Tagaytay and back at midnight after dinner with us. The next morning, he packed his bags and left for Cebu.
He called me after his first game. He did very bad and his score was not counted in. I asked him why he played bad. He said he was under pressure and he couldn’t sleep well because of anxiety. I told him he’s been participating in golf tournaments for many years and he had won many championships so by now he should already be a toughie. He said true but since he belongs to a team, in this particular case, Luisita, he couldn’t help but feel pressured. I told him, just play, enjoy, it’s just for fun. It was not like he’s playing for money.
In golf, there are bad days and good days. There are times he shoots under par, sometimes he shoots 10 over. His best score is so far five under.
Minsan sunud-sunod na birdie, minsan, double bogey.
He has several club championships under his belt. He breezed through a one or two under in St. Andrews Old Course. He got the individual championship in John Hay two years ago. He has two holes in one. His other trophies are scattered around our house. My husband is a true golf champion in his own right.
He came home from Cebu feeling ecstatic and feeling like a celebrity.

His name and photos were splashed on the sports section of several daily newspapers and online news such as Manila Standard.net, Philippine Daily Inquirer, www.inquirer.net, Business World, spin.ph, Sunstar Cebu, Manila Bulletin, Tempo.
