Our minds are now occupied with the case of missing wallet. We’re like Sherlock Holmes.
My son discovered that his wallet was missing on Saturday afternoon. He was calling while I was in Binangonan having a meeting with friends.
Son——– “Mom, have you seen my wallet?”
Me———– “Anak, no”.
Me———– “When and where did you last see it?”
son——– “I was holding it inside Milton’s car. After I paid for our food.”

Milton twice searched his car but it wasn’t there. It wasn’t in our house either.

Last Friday night, my son’s friend Milton came over. They were joined later by another friend of theirs, Jules. They went out of the village with Milton driving. Nag-drive thru sila, tila sa McDo, with Milton on the driver’s seat and my son on the passenger seat.

From the drive thru, they drove back to our house. They parked on the street in front of our house. My son got off holding their food.

Based on his recollection, my conclusion is he either dropped it on the street when he got off Milton’s car or it fell on the car seat or floor. But Milton had searched inside his car and it wasn’t there.

Had my son discovered that his wallet was missing within an hour or so, he could have found it on the street. At 1 am, no one would go walking except for the village security guards.

The wallet contained a thousand pesos and one American dollar according to my son.
Plus, photos, two credit cards, his ATM card, his school ID, his driver’s license, and etc.
He had called the bank and the credit card companies. The difficult thing to replace is the driver’s license and old photos.

He called the village security office hoping someone found it and turned it over to the guards, but as of last night, no one.

We were hoping the guy would just get the money and return the wallet.

This morning, our neighbor’s driver of 15 years told one of our staff that their security guard on night shift found the wallet in front of our house.

Since he was leaving, he turned it over to the next shift and told him to return it to us. That security guard plus their driver allegedly walked to our gate at 5 am but no one came to answer the door bell.

They said they came back at around 7 am and gave the wallet to a guy whom they said didn’t even say thank you.

Eto na. No one has admitted receiving my sonb’s wallet from our neighbor’s guard and driver. We’ve interrogated every person in the vicinity and no one said he’s the one.

Pihado he was tempted when he saw the 2,000 pesos, a few dollar bills and maybe the ATM. Sana isoli na lang yung wallet and Nyke’s cards.

Tonight, our neighbor’s driver and their security guard would come over to our house and try to identify the person among our staff whom they turned over my son’s wallet.
That would be interesting.
