Oh My Buhay hacked

It still is a long process before Oh My Buhay site could function smoothly and without technical glitches and hitches. It is so very frustrating most especially for someone who has a Phd in Computer Illiteracy. My theory that my site was either programmed incorrectly (unintentionally), or my site was a victim of a mischievous mischief, was correct all along.
It’s a combination of both. When someone accessed my site and altered the programs and technically hacked it, the people who tried to fix the errors committed unintentional migration errors which compounded the situation. Mischievous 1 plus one error plus two errors equals thousands of error.

I have come into conclusion that indeed, my site had been hacked last June of 2012.

I was in the US from June 14 to July 14 of last year and I was always sending messages to my staff asking her what went wrong. Even with Godaddy’s help, she couldn’t figure it out. The hacker was so clever.

From July to end of August, I was one disheartened blogger. I was calling Godaddy every night to help me find out what was wrong with Ohmybuhay. At some point, the American lady who answered my call was so annoyed. She told me they have nothing to do with it. Nainis rin ako sa kanya. I didn’t say it’s their fault. I just thought they could help me solve it.

I endured hours and nights of discouragement. It took 4 hours just to publish one short post. Tiniyaga ko lang talaga. Kahit magkang-iiyak na ako, puro buntung-hininga, tuloy pa rin. I had to switch the computer on and off dozens of time. Log-in again. After I have uploaded everything and typed the texts, all of a sudden my computer screen would turn pitch black. My post would disappear. I had to do it all over again. Two more hours before I could successfully publish one single post. Godaddy said that’s a clear sign of hacking.

I don’t know why it had to be this frustrating and challenging. If I were doing Ohmybuhay for money, then I would have stopped and abandoned this site altogether.

But this is my life, this is my diary. Reading this when I am 75 would be my hobby. I want my grandchildren to know who I am. Although I put a lot of nonsense in my blog, this is me, full of nonsense.
