I was so inis when I received my Visa credit card statement of account this month which is due for payment on March 7, bukas na. My bills were unexpectedly high. I didn’t go shopping naman (to the best of my knowledge). When I scanned the charges one by one, hayan, puro grocery, gas and hospital bills. Blood test, x-rays, Mercury Drug, Rustan’s Supermarket, Petron, Shell, Petron again. I promised myself that I will stop using my credit cards, pero eto I just went to Virra Mall to buy sampaloc candies at DEC Pie House tapos na traffic ako sa British India, hayan, gastos na naman. Eh wala na kasi akong maisuot na blouse. Alibi. Justification. Denial. British India is ever so expensive. This linen blouse is a new arrival, meaning, no discount.

  1. Hi Ms. Annie, I think it takes so much self control not to buy stuff. Comfort is tempting as always. But every time someone dies who is publicly known as hardworking like the movie director or Steve Jobs, naiisip ko mamamatay din at hindi na madadala ang pera. I also think pag nabili ang damit, nawawala ang stress at humahaba ang lifespan. As long as hindi naman excessive ang pagshopping, I think okay pa.

    1. That’s true Joey. It’s just almost impossible not to shop.
The other day Edmund was telling me about a certain billionaire who’s known to be very frugal. He’s now very old and sickly. Edmund said paano na daw mae-enjoy ang pera. I like what you said “nawawala ang stress at humahaba ang lifespan”.
