Our tour mates went to McArthurGlen Designer Outlet, Parndorf in Vienna an hour away from the city. Their van could only accommodate 9 and since there were four of us, hindi na kasya. We were advised to commute instead which I didn’t want to do. We’re too tired already and there’s really nothing that’s so important to justify me taking another bus to go shopping.
Shops in Vienna were closed on May 1, 2015. We tried to make the most out of our day by window-shopping in Stephansplatz.
Desigual, Len’s favorite store
I first discovered the United Colors of Benetton in Rome when my kids were little.
Basta tuwang-tuwa ako sa tinda nila for children. I would spend a hour inside their store. The prices were high kaya ang tagal kong pumili. Compute pa ako ng compute. Kaya talaga magaling ako sa Arithmetic, I add faster without the use of a calculator.
None of my companions wanted to ride the horse-drawn carriage.
The fiakers coach ride costs Euro 70 or E80 for 4 people for an hour.
Despite the chill, ice cream and gelato were still in demand.
I do like tea pot sets but I do not collect them because they would just end up in cabinets. Unlike dinner plates that are easier to maintain, store and use, tea pots eat up more space. They would just break even before I get to use them. i have a few sets. Maybe 3.
This set is very charming but I am imagining baka magkadurog-durog lang sa byahe.

Yen and I bought some souvenirs from this shop. I don’t remember what I bought, maybe …. ay ewan. Ano kaya yun?
The presence of around two hundred protesters meant rich countries have their own problems too.

At past noon time, locals and tourists filled the cafes, restaurants and souvenir shops.
Napkins are inexpensive souvenirs. No, I didn’t buy I love Vienna.
The bigger Christmas tree balls sell for Euro 20 each.
My thoughts were full of worry on this day that’s why even If I really liked this violin music box, I let it go. In normal times, I will not have second thoughts of buying it. The violin spins while the music plays. It’s romantic actually. Kaya lang pag maraming kang iniisip, ano ba yung roma-romantic.
This small boutique was closed, sayang, I wanted to try on that dress.
Mon Dimacali said the prices of watches in Vienna are cheaper. He was able to buy daw a Rolex for at least $1,000 less.
Dozens of people line up to bring home boxes of Sacher chocolates. My children bought several boxes. I gave one to a friend of mine. I forgot to ask him how it tasted. At baka nadurog na sa maleta.
Ang anak ko ang desididong bumili kahit ang tagal pumila. Kasi daw this is the original torte. It was invented in 1832 by Franz Sacher, an Austrian, for Prince Wenzel von Metternich.
At first glance, I thought this Hotel Sacher standee was a real person.
Sacher torte has become so popular that Austrians even celebrate December 5 as the National Sachertorte Day.
People were willing to wait in line for Sacher torte (chocolate cake). The box was nice but the chocolate looked so chocolatey, hitsura pa lang, tila nakaka-kilabot sa tamis.
