Having a wife who is OC – obsessive compulsive is not cute. Some husbands think it’s good because their house is squeaky clean and their cabinets are super organized. Wait till you both get old. As she gets older, her behavior would worsen, kasi mas makulit na pag nag menopause and tumanda. Loving husbands are in denial about their wife’s irritating habits. Pag inlove ka, you find everything about that person cute, funny, okay lang. Yun nga, denial.

Maybe, it depends on the degree.

How can you tell if your wife has this kind of psychological disorder?

Here are Ten Signs of being an OC, based on the actual behavior of a 32 year old wife of a young doctor.

1. Their house is full of floor to ceiling cabinets containing her bag collection since her teenage days neatly hung and displayed. She wouldn’t let go of even one ugly, old, cheap bag to give away.
2. She shops not by piece, but by dozens. Twenty four door mats all of the same design and color, One dozen waste cans, one dozen fly swatters, every item comes in dozens. Reason— pag nasira daw, merong kapalit agad.
3. One floor of their house is full of gifts. Gifts for future events, for relatives and friends. She buys one year worth of gifts in one go. Busies herself wrapping those gifts, not before the party, but as soon as she’s bought them.
4. Buys all available colors of the same style of shoes, in one purchase.

I bought a black pair of Bally flat shoes long time ago, It was very comfortable on my feet. Every time I would travel back to HK, I bought another pair in a different color. I accumulated 4 pairs of the same style- red, 2 blacks, brown. I also have 3 pairs of Ferragamo step-in, same style but different colors. I didn’t purchase them in one go. That happened in a span of five years. An OC person purchases several shoes of the same style in one sweep.

5. The first thing that she does as soon as she arrives home is to wash her jewelry thoroughly. Everyday yan after each use. Spends 15 minutes scrubbing, soaping, rinsing the jewelry she wore on that day. She uses Tide detergent para super linis.

6. She keeps every folded shirt and clothing in a sealed plastic before keeping them in the cabinet to avoid dusts. Malinis nga naman, walang alikabok.

7. Spends one whole day a week wiping each and every bag in her collection.
I need someone like that to help me clean my bags. I don’t have a collection, just a dozen maybe that’s amoy amag na.

8. She doesn’t let the laundry girl wash their clothes. She does it herself.

9. Vegetables must be soaped and rinsed well.

10. There are slippers in the car. One is not allowed to bring in his shoes/slippers from the outside into their car. Merong tsinelas pang kotse, merong tsinelas panglabas.
