I’ve always been fascinated by the Aurora Boarealis and Australis ever since I was little. I learned about this nature’s magnificent shows in grade school. They are the results of a collision between gaseous particles in the earth’s atmosphere with the sun’s electrically charged particles. The dancing lights are seen above the magnetic poles in the northern and southern hemispheres.

There are several places on earth that experience this
nature’s spectacular display of dancing lights.

Best 10 places to watch the Aurora Borealis:

9. Iceland
10. Sweden

We must choose wisely since the lights only appear on certain times of the year.
We should go where there’s an almost sure chance or percentage of capturing the lights. Maybe a 7 day stay would be good. There are places where the hotels are notified by the town’s geological observatory. Hotels have alarms to wake up guests.

I want to see the spectacular Northern Lights or Aurora Borealis within the next 3-4 years if possible. However, I don’t want to make bucket lists. I don’t like the idea of giving myself a time frame. I don’t want to pressure myself. If I get to see them, then happy. If not, there’s nothing to fret about. Anyway if I am dead already, it doesn’t matter if I haven’t been to this place or that. I wouldn’t be able to remember.

  1. Come visit us us here in Sweden Annie during Jan and Feb when AB is out. Your family is most welcome to stay in our house. We have plenty of rooms. There’s nothing like the Northern lights, it’s something one has to experience to understand this beauty of nature. Btw many thanks for sharing your stories, relieves so much home sickness, love the aswang-aso story and anting anting the most 🙂 if cannot visit Sweden plan an eyeball for your readers in London, I will come.
