Delicious Lunch in Tiaong

I couldn’t believe it when my daughter told me that our delicious lunch in Ugu Bigyan’s garden restaurant only cost P350 per person.
Sulit na sulit naman yun, except syempre, you have to travel a hundred kilometers + from Manila to Tiaong, Quezon.

Aside from the kulawo which Ugu prepared in front of us, he also served us wow sarap dishes like pako salad, fish, barbequed spare ribs, prawns, mussels, fresh buko juice and guinumis for dessert.

Calamares, as in most dishes, is best eaten newly fried.

Depending on what type of flour, starch, or coating used, they can get too hard to bite after an hour or so. Even if you keep them in the ref, hindi na rin masarap even if you re-fry or bake or microwave it. Just keep it na lang in a sealed plastic. When your husband comes home late at night, greet him with a shower of calamares on his face. Pag pumalag, buhusan mo ng suka to complete the flavor.

  1. Isn’t mustasa, mustard in English? We used to plant that during my elementary school days. Regards.

  2. Mustard. And since we normally equate mustard with the yellow stuff for hotdogs, in most menus when the leaves are used, they call it mustard greens.
